Happy Friday! I have been super busy with wedding season and graduation season, but I wanted to take a minute to celebrate an amazing opportunity I had last night! It’s been so long since I have blogged about one of our workshops because I wanted all of the spotlight to be pointed to Encourage Huntsville, our little passion project that isn’t so little anymore! It’s been such a joy to grow our own workshops alongside some of the most talented hosts in Huntsville and the surrounding area. I believe people are truly being changed and encouraged creatively because of all the small business owners sharing their talents.
How do you celebrate your own little successes without “tooting your own horn”? It’s really not easy for me, but I felt like this was one of the only ways I could appropriately thank all of the people that went into this wonderful event.
Now… a pause for my moment of total freak out. I GOT TO HOST A WORKSHOP AT ANTHROPOLOGIE, MY MOST FAVORITE STORE IN THE WORLD! For a small little stationery designer like me, it’s literally a dream. I’m someone who has followed the success story of Rifle Paper Co., and how they have been picked up by Anthropologie and skyrocketed beyond belief. It’s nearly every small paper person’s dream to be picked up by Anthropologie. It’s exciting to see other locals be picked up as well. My heart swelled when local photographers Simply Bloom launched their camera straps into Anthropologie’s stores.
Let’s go ahead and throw out our BIG thank yous to the several small businesses that contributed to this workshop! Lisa at Sacred Stone was responsible for the flowers in the most fitting little gold holders. Stephanie at Hamley Bake Shop made the beautiful and delicious hand painted envelope cookies. And, the most addicting little macarons were made by the talented Becca at Whisk Small Treats. Now, for some photos of our amazingly fun time Handlettering among all the beautiful things in Anthro Huntsville.
And then a couple of iPhone photos I grabbed along the way. And a special thank you to my husband for always helping set-up, tear down and treats me to wine after the workshop! And yes, that’s a peanut butter & jelly macaron. Oh. Em. Gee!
Thank you to all the fine ladies at Anthropologie for asking me to host, and being so kind to even get me a thank you gift! Who are we even kidding, it was totally my pleasure! And to the attendees, thanks so much for being so excited to learn this fun, new skill!
Now, please excuse me while I continue to come down from Cloud 9.
Happy Friday, all!
