I know that everyone says this, every year, but seriously where did 2014 go? I cannot believe all the things that 2014 brought us, and although we had a very tough December, looking back over our year makes me realize… we have it SO. GOOD. We have been blessed beyond measure, so much so that it’s hard to even recap our year with just one blog! This one is going to be all about us, and our lives, and even though it’s very much intertwined with our business… those recaps will be in the coming days! Otherwise, this blog would be about 100 years long and you’d never read it!
We started the year off with a bang, with Rudy traveling to the National Championship and me participating in my very first bridal fair. The next one is on Sunday, and I feel like we will have come full circle!
Rudy accepted his current job at Aviagen, which he loves and gets to use his amazing Spanish speaking skills. We welcomed a new little cousin, and mostly survived the winter, our least favorite season ever.
I turned in my notice at Southwood in April, and began a new adventure working from home, and on Saturdays with Erin Lindsey Images. We settled into a new way of life, with me working from home, and haven’t looked back yet!
We celebrated with friends on big occasions, like babies and bars!
We celebrated three years of marriage.
May was the biggest whirlwind month. Three straight weeks of travel for this girl. I took my first business trip with my mom to the NSS in New York City. What a way to start! I met the amazing Mattie Tiegreen and Amanda Knight and have been so blessed by them since!
We gained a brother-in-law and lost a Gil! We had an absolute blast in Chattanooga for the wedding of Giselle and Carl Smith!
I went to Vieques, Puerto Rico to photograph the amazing wedding of Michelle and Michael Mason.
We spent a lot of our summer on the lake!
And had the biggest Lake Day on record!
But, we also worked… a lot!
But, we also played a lot… and spent time with family and friends! Summer is definitely our season.
We celebrated Rudy’s 27th birthday in June.
And in July, we got to take the trip of a lifetime to Alaska with my mom and her husband, Philip.
And, we got to spend their one year anniversary at the same restaurant they ate at after their wedding.
And we tried to make the best out of the worst of our year. We lost my uncle to a hard battle with cancer. You can read more about the celebration we had for him here.
I celebrated the most amazing 28th birthday thanks to Rudy’s never-ending-spoil-me-rotten day. It was seriously one of the best days all year. It ended with my favorite band and favorite people at my favorite bar.
We welcomed fall, passed our ten year mark of high school football and won an award for our Cactus and Piñata costumes.
We watched my brother and sister turn into tiny adults.
We welcomed a new kind of sibling (my mom and Philip own a boat!)
We loved on our pretty spoiled, and kind of bad, really cute dogs.
And we ended the year with a fabulous Christmas full of family!
And all that amounts to the…
(This year’s Christmas card!)
2014, you were awesome, but bring on 2015!
