“Singing songs about the south-land
I miss ‘ole’ ‘bamy once again
And I think it’s a sin, yes”
It’s no secret that I love living in Huntsville, Alabama. A lot of people like to slam this city for it’s less-than-Nashville nightlife, but as far as community, genius and beauty—it’s quite alright with me. The rest of the USA might consider Alabama in the armpit of the country, however, I’m proud to live in a state that is most diverse as far as geography, including mountains, rivers and, of course, beaches! I love our strong Southern traditions, and the y’alls and yes ma’ams!
It’s no wonder a large portion of our shop designs are dedicated to our great, but often overlooked state. We love housing local designs, and designs that are dedicated to Alabama! We haven’t talked much about it, but Salt + Paperie loves curating art from other artists that fit with our brand! We are excited to welcome two new local Huntsville artists into our collection!
We have several Alabama-specific design items available for purchase online and at our shop inside the Interior Marketplace! It’s time to highlight the designs and give them the spotlight this Monday!
One of our first and most popular designs is our stamps!
These stamps inspired a whole set of flat notecards that expanded into other favorite locations in Alabama including Auburn, Tuscaloosa, and an “Alabama the Beautiful” notecard.
This brilliant Alabama Word Print is created by hand lettered Alabama counties. It was created and printed locally in Huntsville, Alabama by The Moonlighter.
This gorgeous Watercolor Alabama print was created by Sarah Robins Design.
And, even though they don’t have the state on them… these koozies help benefit our Alabama coasts! Here at S+P we really do love the sea (Read more about our name here) and are donating a dollar from each koozie sold to the the CCA.
Head to Shop Salt + Paperie to grab any of these, or if you’re in Huntsville you can get them at The Interior Marketplace in Hampton Cove!

Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Alabama
Lord, I’m coming home to you, here I come Alabama”
