Each year this is by far my favorite post because it gives me the chance to look back over the year and reflect on all the goodness that came out of it. Some wedding suites, it’s hard to believe that it was even worked on in 2018, because it feels like I’ve known these families for years already! I am truly thankful to all who trusted me with the task of announcing to their world their biggest day to date. We’ve already begun working on some amazing suites for 2019, and I can not wait to post this blog next year already! Let’s get to it, shall we?
Navy + Gold Scripty Suite
Lisa was so precious to work with, and so in love with everything! She had a beautiful vision for her wedding day, and we looooove how this combo turned out. It combines a little floral, a little watercolor, and an amazing map! Lisa told me that her guests instantly recognized it was a S+P suite, and that is music to my ears!
Clean + Colorful Kate Spade Inspired Suite
Kathryn had such a different vision for her wedding than the usual, which I loved! Bright colors, clean lines… and you can see how we made that come to life below! Kathryn also just happened to be wearing her color scheme on the day we met, which is more common than you would think! I love the bold B monogram combined with the elegant script. Also, that custom belly band matched her table runners, too! Her liner is one of my favorite parts of the suite, because we took those elements and added them to her day-of items like her program and welcome card.
Clean + Elegant Navy Letterpress
Another Navy suite! Can you see a trend for 2018, yet? Juliana and her mom were such a pleasure to work with, so organized, and with a perfect vision. Seriously, this font + the clean san-serif is the perfect combination… also on white, white paper… which makes it pop that much more! We are doing more and more letterpress suites and it makes me so happy! Letterpress is by far my favorite print method! I just love these photos by London Lane Studio of Juliana + Jake’s wedding day… the pink just makes everything even better!
Navy Colorado Mountain Suite
Shannon and I never met (also, not a rarity!), but she had already done her Save the Dates, and wanted to keep in the same look and feel of those. I adored this suite because I got to draw little happy trees while channeling my inner Bob Ross. Her map was by far my favorite thing about this suite… just so much fun! A close second and third is that real wood monogram, and the little detail on the return address.
Watercolor Greenery Creekside Suite
Cassidy’s suite is any easy top ten contender because of the custom watercolor of her venue, Creekside Plantation, combined with the watercolor greenery + monogram. Adding the venue to suites has been a really fun trend we’ve seen in 2018, and expect to see more of in 2019! Cassidy was so easy to work with, and I was just blown away by all her detail photographs by Erin Lindsey Images.
Oversized Elegant Gold Monogram Suite
Bigger is better in my book, and the book of Caroline and her mom! This suite is gorgeous for any season and would be gorgeous in any color. Caroline was so easy to work with, and attention was paid to every little detail! Her program with ribbon was by far one of my favorite additions to her suite, but those koozies are pretty amazing too! Major props to Erin Lindsey Images for all these gorgeous images, especially of the girls holding the programs, which is so rare!
Neutral Romantic Letterpress Suite
Although Tori was only in Birmingham, we never met either! I had the pleasure of just meeting with her mom, which was such a blessing. She was a delight in every sense of the word. She knew her daughter well, and chose perfectly for her wedding paper. This gold letterpress suite is soft and romantic, with a touch of organic, just like her wedding. In her detail shots you can also see her napkins, koozies and coasters! Another amazing photo set by Erin Lindsey Images.
Elegant Savannah Suite
Down to the top three, and it starts getting really tough, because they are all so beautiful and different. Suzanne’s suite was black letterpress, with a gold monogram and silk ribbon. The inserts are digitally printed to match, but nothing is lost because of that beautiful script. Drawing the elements for this map was nothing short of a challenge because of all the intricate details in the buildings there, but they turned out even more amazing! The pop of gold foil on the monogram is just the little bit of bling it needed!
Two Color Leafy Letterpress Suite
Daley’s suite is near the top because it was the first time I got to design a two-color letterpress suite‚ and I LOVED it. And I’m sure you’re thinking.. I only see one color letterpress, but the blind printed detail still counts as a color! Her RSVP postcard and smaller wedding announcement were both digital, so we added in an actual third color with a little pop of green. The most stunning part of this suite I think is those hand-torn edges. Gahhh, they really do add so much.
Navy, Wine + Gold Watercolor Floral Suite
Working with Kaitlyn on her wedding paper was pretty much like working on a really amazing styled shoot. I loved the font choices, the florals, and mostly the custom Gorham’s Bluff watercolor painting. We continued to use the watercolor and drawing for the guest book sign and the koozies. Koozies have never matched better than these! The branding continued on to her menus, and then… the programs which were bags with confetti for when you walked down the aisle. I just LOVED these. And, because I got to actually attend this wedding, seeing it in action was even more fun! These gorgeous photos are courtesy of Gari-Ann Kia Photography
