Top Ten | Favorite Wedding Suites of 2014

View More: http://erinlindseyimages.pass.us/nick-and-alex-mallard-wedding

This might be the most challenging post to date! Of the dozens of invitations we did in 2014, how do I even begin to narrow it down to 10?! If I didn’t, however, this post would get so lengthy you’d be bored after five minutes! So, I encourage you to browse through all of our updated examples, and some other older ones in our galleries!

Some of my favorite wedding suites were chosen because they are just so gorgeous but, others were chosen because I was given some creative freedom and loved how they turned out! Even more, some were chosen because they are like that teacher in high school that challenges you, and you hate her class, but then in the end you feel accomplished, actually learned something, and aced the class!

These are specifically wedding suites, because I really couldn’t choose between some of the other shower and party invitations that we did… so, look for that blog in the upcoming weeks!

Leggo!

Number 10. The Mallard.
It’s hard to tell whether I love this one more because of the hand-drawn elements all over it, because this wedding was my first one to shoot with Erin Lindsey, thus signifying my “full-time” Salt + Paperie gig, because this couple is precious or because they embraced “wedding branding” on their own better than anyone I’ve seen! Either way, this sweet and fun invitation suite fit the day so magically that it had to make the list!

Number 9. The Fowler.
Taylor approached me about doing her wedding invitations, and I instantly loved her. She’s gorgeous, sweet, and loves simplicity. That’s why this gorgeous letterpress invitation fit her personality and wedding perfectly! I adored the clean lines and leafy green for her outdoor Burrritt on the Mountain wedding. I also loved how she wanted to add florals to her paddle fan for the August wedding day. Her pieces “go” but aren’t match-matchy. Love.

Number 8. The Lavender.
This was for a styled shoot along side some of my favorite Huntsville vendors The Chef Next Door, White Rabbit Studios, Just Crumbs and White Dresses that was eventually chosen for this issue of Southern Bride magazine! We also got to socialize with some Birmingham vendors like Christopher Joseph Designs, Make-up by Melissa at The Village at Blount Springs. With that many amazing vendors, you know this one has to make it in the top ten. Beautiful!

Number 7. Americana.
This. Everything about this I loved. If I had a “re-do” dress, it’s this Hayley Paige one. The only thing I didn’t love was not being able to be at the shoot that day. This suite was another styled one, but this one was challenging! I felt really lost when I heard the theme, but it ended up being one of my favorites. I love the use of fabric as a belly band, the patterned paper and flowers throughout.

Number 6. The Hayes.
This suite was a favorite because of the meaning behind it, the fact that it was family, and the general simplicity of it all. Unlike, the bright patterns of the last suite, this one has bold cursive writing that does all the talking for it! It was on perfect cream linen paper, and placed inside of a perfectly lined envelope that dressed it up just enough for this “Front Yard” wedding at the bride’s childhood home.

Number 5. The Trevino.
This is the one. The one class that drives you to tears and works you hard… and I am NOT talking about the bride! Ashley was a sweet dream, and had the perfect vision for her invitations, classic, but not boring. This one is the most “hand-crafted” suite I think we did this year because each fancy corner was hand punched, not even by me, but by my muscle, and honey bunny, Rudy! He did amazing, and you’d definitely be surprised how crafty he really is! We worked hard with this suite, but it paid off. It’s Rudy’s favorite for the year, maybe because he worked so hard on it, but I think it’s just because it’s beautiful! If I remember correctly, Ashley’s guests told her it was the “prettiest invitation they had seen in a long time.” Yes! Hard work pays off, and we aced the class.

Number 4. The Passport.
Oh man. You had to know this one was going to be on the list. This one was so unique to begin with, but then all of the fun extras for the wedding just pushed it right over the edge! Not to mention, it was in Veiques, and I was there to photograph it! The things I loved about this suite most: They already knew who was coming because it was a destination wedding, so the invitations were just a formality, and for fun!  They didn’t need RSVPs, so we put in a Postcard for well-wishes for people that knew they weren’t coming! On each page of the passport, there were activities and suggested fun things to do on the island. We also included a photo of the couple for people to keep and frame! I love these the most because of the letterpresses gold Passport front on thick Navy Cover Paper and the custom map liner that includes Vieques.

Number 3. Sweet Home Suite.
This suite will always be near to my heart because it was one of my first styled shoots that I was super involved in, from start to finish, and it was also my first published suite, and also involves my own hand-written calligraphy. I love, and you guys have also seemed to love, the embracing of the “state”! I definitely encourage you to make your RSVP as fun as this one! It makes your guests more likely to interact and send it back! I love the greens of these, and totally believe it would be beautiful in letterpress!

Number 2. The Tate.
This one has gotten such a great response from our bridal shows, that it definitely deserves the number two spot, but even more so because of the total gorgeous pale pink envelopes, champagne mats and the continuation of the “wedding brand” into the wedding day! I love nothing more than being at the wedding (bonus of second shooting with Erin Lindsey!) and hearing people be excited about the fact that “everything matches”. Yes! Wedding branding really makes your whole wedding cohesive.

Number 1. The Lauren.
This invitation suite just stole my heart. Helping to make Lauren’s meticulously thought about wedding dreams come to life was an honor of 2014. I adored hand painting these flowers, and turning them into invitation art. I also love Lauren and Alex, which definitely helps me love their invitation even more. They used one of my favorite destination wedding photographers, and their whole day was beautiful. I definitely wish that I could have been there in North Carolina for this beautiful, Pinterest-worthy wedding! You can see more of their wedding here.
