Wedding Branding is a topic I’ve wanted to write about for over a year! It’s one thing I am so passionate about in design and speak to all my brides about in our meetings. Since our big engagement & show season is coming up, what better time than now?
For this post, I’m using my friend Casey’s wedding paper designs. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a wedding that was so cohesively branded before. People very much recognized this wreath with a “J” when it was all said and done. Casey’s engagement was too short to have a Save the Date, but I know exactly what it would have looked like if she had one!
So let’s jump in!
What is wedding branding?
Wedding branding is capturing the look & feel of your wedding through purposeful design choices. Fonts, colors, and textures are chosen to make your own wedding “logo” and brand. This look is then carried throughout your entire wedding so that everything becomes cohesive for your guests. A wedding brand is not a theme, but a themed wedding could be branded.
Why should you brand your wedding?
Your wedding is the biggest day of your life! The most memorable weddings have personal touches that let your guests know you paid attention to the details. Selecting a brand based on your wedding’s style and mood will make for a gorgeous, personal, cohesive day!

How can we brand my wedding?
Create a mood board or Pinterest board, and put only images that truly represent how you want your wedding day to look on them. Not just cutesy details you’d like to have. Look across the board and notice repeating colors, elements or patterns. This is your wedding look & feel! Capturing that feel by the right fonts & colors is where the designer in me gets truly excited. I can totally geek out over some branding! Colors and patterns set the mood choose wisely! Ornate patterns in gold + black feel high-end, but if you add some exposed wood you have organic elegance. Bold colors + geometric patterns are playful and fun, and with certain color palettes they can also be retro.
When should I start my wedding branding?
Your save-the-dates and wedding invitations are the first thing your guests see so it’s important to begin the branding from the very beginning. Together we can come up with a wedding logo for you and continue to use it on programs, place cards, koozies, menus, favor tags and signage. Once you’re married you can use the design for return address stamps, thank you notes, first Christmas card and other stationery. Some brides love the monogrammed look, and others prefer custom drawings or a symbol that represents their wedding. Whatever you choose, continue it throughout the whole process.
How do fonts work for my wedding brand?
If we are working together on Save the Dates, I urge brides to make sure they love the font we’ve chosen to use on it, because I will definitely want to use it again on their invitations! A lot of the time, the Save the Date takes almost longer to design, because we really begin to form the wedding brand then. By the time it’s time to design programs and napkins, the process goes so quickly because all of the hard work of branding has already been done. Choosing fonts you love early is super important. We will use it on everything, and I would urge you to not change your mind four weeks before the wedding about choosing a different one! Using the same + appropriate fonts for your wedding paper will help to tie everything together and add the personal touch to all the little details that really make your wedding yours.
What can a wedding brand be applied to?
Anything! Really. You can brand as much as M&Ms! We can work together to make the wedding logo for everything from wedding favors to your dance floor light! We love working with other vendors to make sure the wedding brand stays cohesive in all aspects.
What is the result of all this wedding branding?
Beautiful, cohesive wedding designs that are completely yours.
